FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Alaska Constitution Party (AKCP) became established as a non-profit corporation (Political Organization) in the State of Alaska during August 2023.

The AKCP achieved Ballot Access for the 2024 election through the gathering of over 5,000 signatures in 2022 and 2023.  It is recognized as both a Political Group and a Limited Party by the Division of Elections and is working towards attaining Recognized Political Party status.

The AKCP believes that the current political situation in America demonstrates the fallacy and corruptness of the two-party system, which was not envisioned by the Framers of the Constitution, in fact, the Constitution does not even mention political parties as part of the Constitutional Republic they designed and guaranteed to each state in Article IV, Section 4.

The principles embodied in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights have become so mangled and tangled that they are barely recognizable in the halls of Congress and State legislatures.  The Constitution needs the people to raise their voices in a coordinated defense across the nation, and the Constitution Party intends to be that voice across the nation.  The AKCP will be that voice in the State of Alaska.

The Alaska Constitution Party believes that Liberty is an action verb, and it will take a lot of action to re-establish America’s Constitutional Republic.  It has the following goals:

1.    Build a network of people who have been educated in the principles this Republic, and who are committed to educating others in order to open minds to the power of Liberty within the bounds of the federal and state Constitutions.  Liberty belongs to the people not to governments.

2.    Train this network how to connect with and communicate these principles to incumbent office holders, find what changes need to be made in order to re-align any proposed legislation to the spirit and law of both Constitutions, and offer suggestions about which laws should be reviewed and repealed because they violate the principles of Liberty found in both Constitutions.

3.    Support incumbents or candidates who have shown commitment to these principles by their words and actions during their tenure in office.

4.    Run for office to be the voice for the Constitution when current lawmakers refuse to defend these principles. In Alaska’s current Top Four primary system, and Ranked Choice Voting, a win is possible with the right message, at the right time, in the right place.

5.    Maintain Ballot Access through signature gathering every four years and achieve Recognized Political Party status through voter registration drives.
