BREAKING NEWS: Alaska Constitution Party crosses party lines to endorse David Eastman for state representative in 2026 House District 27 race

“The Constitution Party has always put principle over politics,” said state chairman Karen Murray.  “Constitutionists want to know which candidates are committed to the principles of both the federal Constitution and the Alaska State Constitution.” 

The Alaska Constitution Party (AKCP) has reviewed the voting records of both Jubilee Underwood (Republican) and David Eastman (Republican) and determined that the choice is clear.  David Eastman clearly aligns with the same principles embodied in the Constitution Party Platform.  Jubilee Underwood does not. 

The Freedom Index confirms our own research.  In David Eastman’s previous terms in office, he earned a 100% constitutional rating, while Jubilee Underwood earned an abysmal 50% in her first (and soon to be, only) term.  Check their results out here:  Eastman and Underwood.   

We believe the words of Thomas Jefferson; "On every question of construction [of the Constitution], let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."

The Founders desired that future Americans would adhere to the Actual Intent of the federal Constitution.  Self-governance for the individual, for local governing bodies, and for state governments, includes holding legislators accountable for their actions both for and against the founding principles of our nation.  This accountability rests upon the shoulders (and ballots) of the individual citizen voter, and upon a secure, honest, and open electoral system.

David Eastman supports and has proven his commitment to these principles, which makes him the only true Statesman in the House District 27 race.
